How to put your own music in the Sims 3

This is for itunes, but you can try it with other music programs

Open the Start menu, Go to My Documents.
Open the Electronic Arts Folder, Open The Sims 3 Folder.
Open the Custom Music Folder
Start up Itunes
Right Click on the title of a song you want in the game and click copy.
Go to the Custom Music folder, right click in that folder and click paste
Continue copying and pasting as many songs as you would like
When you are playing the Sims 3 just click on the radio and choose custom music.

Kleptocy UPDATE

I have updated the list of types of legacies to include the official Kleptocy Rules. I have revised the rules so that you may spend the $1,300 you start with. This is basically so that you can buy a bed and a fridge since those can be so difficult to steal. Just a tip: I wouldn’t buy a toilet with that money since those are fairly easy to steal. Also I’ve allowed two exceptions: You may buy cribs and driveways from buy mode when needed since those are too difficult to steal. Hopefully we’ll have some brave volunteers who want to try it. I’m on the second generation of mine right now. Good Luck.

Skill Guide- Handiness

Every Household could use a handy sim. Having a sim skilled in handiness can save you hundreds of dollars in Repairman fees. Objects repaired sims with the Handy trait are less likely to break again. It also helps to have a sim with the handy trait if you have sims that depend on their computers, such as Writers and Hackers. Gardening sims will also enjoy the automatic sprinkler upgrade sims with handiness skill can perform. Handiness skill benefits the Military Career.

Here are the upgrades sims skilled in Handiness can perform:

Level 3: Self Cleaning, Silent Running (dishwasher), Improve Speakers (adds +10 to the music moodlet), Change Doorbell.

Level 4: Auto Water (makes sprinklers came on automatically), Fireproof Stove.

Level 6: Fireproof Fireplace, Improved Crushing (trash compactor), Unbreakable.

Level 7: Autolight -makes the fireplace come on automatically when someone enters the room (DO NOT work on the fireplace when the autolight is enabled), Boost Channels, Faster Cooking, Improve Meal Quality, Perfect Teleportation (makes the teleporter work every time).

Level 8: Improved Graphics (more fun when playing on the computer). Wire House with Speakers (gives sims the music moodlet in every room).

Level 9: Change Fireplace Color, Improve Memory (in the Food Replicator this increases the number of meals that can be stored)

Kleptocy

I was browsing legacies today and I ran across a very interesting Legacy Blog. In this blog, The founder is a kleptomaniac who has stolen everything she owns, she is not allowed to buy anything. She is not allowed to sell stolen items for money. Its a very creative and unusual blog and you can read it here It gave me an idea for an actual type of legacy:

Kleptocy: Start with a Kleptomaniac Founder. You may not buy anything. You may only build a house. You may only steal things but you may not sell anything you steal. All stolen objects must be used and can’t be changed (designed). The family trait will be Kleptomaniac, all heirs must possess this trait. Same rules apply every generation. No buying anything.
I know this will be a difficult feat since you wont be starting out with the basics of a normal legacy but that’s the fun of it, it’s a challenge. Of course you can go to the gym to eat and shower, and you can sleep on a bench until you can steal a lounge chair. I’m going to try this out and work out the kinks and then add it to my Types of Legacies List.

Collector’s Guide- Butterflies

Butterflies can be found in many different community lots, especially along sidewalks, and in parks. They can also be found in the graveyard and sometimes even your own backyard. If you collect all ten types of butterfly you will win the Butterfly Collector Skill Challenge. Butterfly Collectors can find beetles and butterflies more easily. Here are the ten species of butterfly and how much money you can expect to earn from each one:

Moth- $5

Monarch Butterfly- up to $10

Zephyr Metalmark Butterfly- $20 to $25

Red Admiral Butterfly- $30 to $50

Mission Blue Butterfly- $50

Green Swallowtail Butterfly- around $100

Royal Purple Butterfly- $100 to $200

Silver-spotted Skipper Butterfly- $310 to $400

Zebra Butterfly- $700

Rainbow Butterfly- $1400
